To offer a sheet retaining tool for a book allowing easy turning-over of pages and easy to use.

The page clip 1 has a pair of sheet pinching body 11, 12 which sandwiches book sheets and is equipped with the holding body 10 to support the two sheet pinching bodies 11, 12 with a predetermined interval, and the sheet pinching bodies 11, 12 are each constructed with the upper pressing parts 13, 15 to retain the sheet down and the supporting parts 14, 16 each formed correspondingly to the upper pressing parts 13, 15 to support a sheet and there the insertion means 14a, 16a are prepared extending from the supporting parts 14, 16 and projecting forward longer than the upper pressing parts 13, 15. By inserting the insertion means 14a, 16a between the sheets of the book and holding a part of the sheet paper led into the pinching spaces 17, 18 by the pinching bodies 11, 12, the instrument can press the sheets with light force and makes it easy to turn over the pages and can retain the sheets with one single insertion motion, thus makes it easy to use.
