To improve heat exchanging efficiency by suppressing drift by allowing heat exchange fluid to uniformly flow to an inflow/outflow section of a tube bundle side face, in a shell and tube type heat exchanger incorporating the tube bundle.
In this shell and tube type heat exchanger in which the tube bundle is received in a cylindrical shell, the tube bundle is composed of a tube in which first fluid is led in and out, a second fluid inlet section is formed on one axial end side of an internal space formed in the shell, and a second fluid outlet section is formed on the other axial end side of the internal space, the internal space is partitioned into a second fluid inlet-side space and a second fluid outlet-side space by a partition disposed in the internal space, a first baffle plate is disposed on a tube bundle side face of the second fluid inlet-side space, and the first baffle plate is composed of a first part baffle plate disposed along a half face of the tube bundle side face, and a second part baffle plate disposed along the other half face of the tube bundle side face and having pressure loss higher than that of the first partial baffle plate.
