PURPOSE: To guarantee an operation from automatic gear shifting to manual gear shifting while manual gear shifting is smoothed much more, and also guarantee an erroneous operation caused by its reverse gear shifting.

CONSTITUTION: A shifting means is equipped with a gate plate 22 formed with guiding hole 221 for a shift lever 3 for manual gear shifting, the guiding hole 221 is provided with a plurality of straight-line parallel holes 221a and 221b, and with a center connecting hole 221c, and projected sections 225a and 225b to be engaged with the shift lever 3 at the time of automatic gear shifting are formed out of the aforesaid holes. It is so set up that the terminal end sections of each straight-line hole 221a and 221b, which are located over each diagonal line holding the center connecting hole 221c, correspond to the mutually continuous steps of gear shifting. Opposite projected sections 225a and 225b are provided with one angle section which is faced to one diagonal line and beveled 225c and 225d, and with the other angle section which is faced to the other diagonal line, and are formed with projected sections 225e and 225f along the shape of the shift lever 3, and with a flat surface section held by both the angle sections.
