Abstract:
To provide a ship propulsion system and a ship that are capable of carrying out, as intended by a ship operator, longitudinal movement electrically-driven by an auxiliary propulsion machine which is installed deviated toward one side in a lateral direction of a hull, without generating thrust of a main propulsion machine.SOLUTION: In a ship propulsion system 100 of the invention, a control section 50 is configured to execute steering angle change control for tilting a steering angle A2 of an auxiliary propulsion machine 30 from a longitudinal direction of a hull 10 to one side in a lateral direction of the hull 10 by a prescribed angle α, so that the hull 10 moves along the longitudinal direction, in performing electrically-driven longitudinal movement for moving the hull 10 along the longitudinal direction by driving the auxiliary propulsion machine 30 which is installed deviated toward one side in the lateral direction of the hull 10, without generating thrust of a main propulsion machine 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
