To provide shoes which can prevent steaming on soles or the like by promoting ventilation.

Bottoms of shoes are each provided with a pumping member 7 which lets air move into or out of it by repeating compression and restoration during the period of walking and running. The pumping member 7 is arranged beneath an upper 4 and a mid sole 5 linked to the upper 4 and the mid sole 5 is formed out of a member made vertically breathable to let the air in the pumping member 7 move into or out of the upper 4 while the air inside the pumping member 7 is exhausted outside the shoes from a side of the pumping member 7 during the compression of the pumping member 7. On the other hand, the air outside the shoes is taken into the pumping member 7 from a side of the pumping member 7 during the restoration of the pumping member 7.
