PURPOSE: To reduce the useless current consumption due to charge/discharge by providing a means dividing a serial/parallel conversion means and a data bus into plural blocks and supplying selectively a digital video signal to the divided data buses.

CONSTITUTION: When a start pulse is inputted to a buffer control circuit 1, a buffer (A) control signal A is a selection signal H. When the buffer (A)2 is selected a digital video signal is outputted to a data sampling circuit array (A)5 in a driver array 4. On the other hand, a sample pulse generation array 7 outputs sequentially sampling pulses SP1WSP2N by the input of the start pulse. The pulses SP1WSP2N are given given to the array (A)5, which samples a digital video signal at the trailing edge of the pulses and gives the result to a luminance modulation circuit array 8, where they are subjected to luminance modulation and the result is outputted from output terminals SEG 1WSEG2N.
