Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate adherence of tailings to, wear of a thermal head, etc., by mixing amorphous silica having special ranges of a volume of pores each having 7500 Angstrom or less of a pore size and nitrogen absorption outer surface area according to a t method with heat sensitive recording sheet coating solution.

CONSTITUTION: Amorphous silica having 1.5-2.5ml/g or less of a volume of pores each having 7500 Angstrom or less of a pore size and 20-70m2/g of nitrogen absorption outer surface area according to a t method is mixed as filler with heat sensitive recording sheet coating solution. Thus, an increase in viscosity upon dispersion in high concentration is eliminated, and adherence of tailings to a thermal head, wear, discoloration, base coloring are suppressed. The silica desirably has 1500ppm or less of residual sodium ions, 100-200ml/100g of oil absorption amount, a median diameter of 1.0-1.5μm according to measurement of a Coulter counter method, and 220-300m2/g of BET ratio surface with steam.
