PURPOSE: To improve color development performance and color reproduction performance by forming a silver halide emulsion layer containing a specified cyan coupler and a color non-developing phenol compound on a support.

CONSTITUTION: The silver halide emulsion layer formed on a support contains at least one of the cyan couplers represented by formula I and at least one of the phenol compounds represented by formula II. In formulae I and II, R0 is H or a substituent; each of R1 and R3 is a substituent; R2 is an electron attractive group; X is H or a group to be released by coupling with the oxidation product of an aromatic primary amine color developing agent; R4 is alkyl or cycloalkyl or the like; R5 is halogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, or the like; k is an integer of 0-3; and when k is plural, each of plural R5 may be same or different.
