PURPOSE: To enhance sharpness and color reproduction performance and to improve storage stability against time lapse and processability by incorporating each specified compound and coupler in an emulsion layer.
CONSTITUTION: The silver halide color photographic sensitive material contains the coupler represented by formula I and the compound represented by the formula: A1-(TIME)a-DI or A2-(TIME)a-DI in which A1 is an atomic group to be allowed to release (TIME)a-DI by a reaction with the oxidation product of an aromatic primary amine developing agent and it has a diffusion resistant group; A2 is the same as A1 except that it does not have this group; TIME is a timing group releasing DI after having been released from A; DI is a development inhibitor to be substantially deactivated after it has been eluted into the developing solution; and (a) is 1 or 2. In formula I, R1 is h or a substituent; Z is a nonmetallic atomic group necessary Icy form an N-containing 5-membered azole ring; and X is H or a group to be released by coupling with the oxidation product of a developing agent.
