Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the preservability of both of a silver halide emulsion and a latent image by incorporating a specified compound in the silver halide photographic sensitive material.
CONSTITUTION: The silver halide photographic sensitive material has at least one photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer on a support and it contains at least one of the compounds represented by the formula in which R1 is a 1-6C optionally substituted alkyl group; and R2 is a ≥20C branched alkyl group or a straight or ≥17C branched alkenyl group, or a substituted alkyl or monosubstituted alkenyl group having the total carbon number of ≥12 and a substituent selected from at least one alkoxycarbonyl, alkenoxycarbonyl, aryloxycarbonyl, carbamoyl, acyl, alkoxy alkylthio, arylthio, alkylsulfonyl, arylsulfonyl, aryl, or heterocyclic group.
