Title:
SINGLE CYLINDER ENGINE HAVING BIAXIAL BALANCER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3477046
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce height and width of a single cylinder engine by providing a compact biaxial balancer.
SOLUTION: A bixial balancer 6 is arranged inside a crank case 2. A first balancer 4 is directly meshed with a crank gear 8 from which power is transmitted to a first driven gear 9. A transmitting gear 12 which is arranged in an axially opposite direction to the first driven gear 9 transmits power to a second balancer 5. The second balancer 5 has a second driven gear 13 meshed with the transmitting gear 12. A weight 14 of the first balancer 4 and a weight 15 of a second balancer 5 have escape portions 16, 16 for a large end of a connecting rod. A gear passing escape portion 17 is formed on a balancer portion 15 of the second balancer 5 for passing the first driven gear 9, so as to prevent interference between the first driven gear 9 of the first balancer 4 and the balancer portion 15 of the second balancer 5.
