To provide a skewer for food which has a prescribed or more portion formed for preventing chemical for food from peeling off and thus maintains any of prescribed or more antimicrobial, sterilizing and disinfecting functions even if coating for food as the chemical for food peels off due to contact of the surface of a soft skin of a finger with the surface of a skewer.
A skewer body 1 includes a food material holding part 2 for holding a food material put on the skewer through a pointed tip, and a grip part 3 located on the base side of the food material holding part 2 and held by hand. The grip part 3 is provided with a plurality of depressed lines of groove parts 5 dented from the surface of the grip part 3, having each an about U-shaped cross-section and extending in the axial direction of the grip part 3. The chemical for food which has any of the antimicrobial, sterilizing and disinfecting functions adheres on the outer surface of the grip part 3.
