To ensure stability of combustion while suppressing generation of NOx even under light load of boiler by providing a core for injecting high density pulverized coal flow into a furnace while shifting pulverized coal to the outer circumferential part in a high density burner.
A pulverized coal flow A being fed into a furnace 1 from a distributor 3 disposed at the inlet of a pulverized coal burner and generating power through combustion is branched into a high density pulverized coal flow B and a low density pulverized coal flow C and supplied into the furnace 1, respectively, from a high density burner 4 and a low density burner 5. A core 6 having opposite ends bonded to the opposite side walls of the high density burner 4 is disposed at the inlet of the high density burner 4 having a quadrilateral transverse being supplied with the high density pulverized coal flow B. The core 6 shifts the high density pulverized coal flow B flowing into the high density burner 4 to the upper and lower wall parts, i.e., the outer circumferential part, thereof in the high density burner 4.
