Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high speed processing even at the time of banding while keeping accuracy of color writing by converting input information into a page object type intermediate data in color component representation and then rendering the intermediate data for each color component.
SOLUTION: An inputted PDL command is interpreted according to a language specification (S102) and if an input data is a write command (S103), it is converted into page object format supported by a hardware rendering circuit 9 (S104). For a mask divided into respective bands, the decode time and rendering time of a data required at the time of rendering are added (S105) and a decision is made whether banding is possible or not as a preprocessing for rendering a page object (S110). According to the method, a large volume of data can be rendered inexpensively at high speed through banding at the time of printing a page description language.
