To provide a snow-thawing device making use of a heat-accumulating gravel tank which hardly requires both construction cost and running cost and also which does not bring adverse effects to especially water resources.
Gravels 5 are charged in a space surrounded by a waterproof layer 2 to store rainwater or the like among the gravels. The rainwater or the like is heated by the geothermal energy for snow-thawing water stored in the storage tank 1 filled with gravels. The storage tank 1 filled with gravels, which does hardly require the construction cost, is buried in the ground near a building. Since the retained water among the gravels 5 in the storage tank 1 is heated by the geothermal energy of the surrounding soil (soil temperature of about 7°C at the depth of about 3m from the ground surface), the running cost is hardly required. Since the water in the storage tank 1 is retained by rainwater or snow-water and the water is circulated to thaw snow, it does not bring adverse effects to environmental conditions, especially to water resources.
