To provide a sock whose sole is reinforced, having sufficient antislip effect, and keeping air permeability and stretchability: and to provide a method for producing the sock.

The sock is produced through the following processes: an attachment process where a knitted sock is attached to a foot mold 5; a first impregnation process of soaking, for a prescribed period of time, the sole-side toe parts of the foot mold 5 and the sock 1 in an impregnation tank 6 storing foamed polyurethane in a molten state so as to impregnate the toe parts with the foamed polyurethane; a second impregnation process of soaking, for a prescribed period of time, the sole-side heel parts of the foot mold 5 and the sock in the impregnation tank 6 so as to impregnate the heel parts with the foamed polyurethane; a drying process of drying the foamed polyurethane impregnated into the sock; and a mold-releasing process of releasing the sock 1 from the shoe last 5. The sock 1 is provided with reinforcing material 2, 3 comprising the foamed polyurethane at the sole-side toe part and the heel part.
