Abstract:

PURPOSE: To simplify the process of and device for allocating key data corresponding to a sound generating channel.
CONSTITUTION: Key data corresponding to at least one channel are stored in an assignment memory 33, and a sound source in a musical note generating circuit 19 is set in accordance with the key data. Meanwhile, turn-on/off data for the key is stored in a key turn-on/off register 31 having bits corresponding to a key number. When a key corresponding to key data in the key data on sound generation, which is stored in the memory 33 is turned off, a search means 32 searches the resister 31 for turn-on key data in the order of descendent of sound pitches, and if a remaining turn-on key is present, the content of the assignment memory 33 is rewritten in accordance with the key data thereof, and accordingly, a sound is generated.
