Title:
SOUND INSULATING FLOOR AND FLOOR BED PANEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3791374
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound insulating floor capable of reducing the level of sounds caused by impacts on the floor, such as the level of sounds caused by heavy objects on the floor, without using glass wool, and a floor bed panel for use with the sound insulating floor.
SOLUTION: A hollow bed panel 40 for use with the sound insulating floor 10 has cavities each having an approximately trapezoidal cross section and formed at regular intervals, and a plurality of openings leading to the cavities are formed on the slab 20 side face of the hollow bed panel. The openings are formed in predetermined positions such that they serve as resonant pipes for sounds caused by impacts on the floor, having wavelengths which each opening is designed to absorb. Inside the cavity, as a sound wave of the resonating frequency repeats oscillations, its energy is consumed by friction against interior wall surfaces and by viscosity among air particles at open ends, whereby the sound waves around that frequency can be absorbed.
