Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a sound source device using a sound source LSI provided with an FM sound source part and a PCM sound source part and capable of driving the sound source LSI by software for driving a conventional FM sound source and the software for driving a conventional PCM sound source.
CONSTITUTION: The sound source LSI 2 is provided with the FM sound source part and the PCM sound source part, and a CPU 11 of a personal computer main body accesses the port of an address AS of an expansion bus 12 when the FM sound source part is driven, and it accesses the port of the address AI of the expansion bus 12 when the PCM sound source part is driven. A discrimination circuit 5 monitors the access state, and when the CPU 11 accesses the FM sound source part, it applies interrupt for the CPU 3, and switches a selector 4 to the address AS side, and makes the control data sent from the CPU 11 inputtable to the sound source LSI 2, when the CPU 11 accesses the PCM sound source part, the discrimination circuit 5 resets the CPU 3, and switches the selector 4 to the CPU 3 side to drive the sound source LSI 2.
