Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce production of the fluctuation in output torque of an engine by compensating for a fluctuation in an amount of air passing through an air mixture passage by means of an amount of air passing through a bypass passage, resulting in suppression of a fluctuation in an amount of air fed to a combustion chamber, by providing amount of air passing through the bypass passage and the air mixture passage with correlation therebetween when the two passages are simultaneously provided.
CONSTITUTION: An ISC valve 26 located in a bypass passage 20 and a VSV valve 28 located in an air mixture passage 24 are operated by means of a drive signal outputted from a microcomputer 30. The opening of the ISC valve 26 is steplessly controlled by means of a drive signal outputted as a duty signal. The VSV valve 28 is opened and closed by means of a drive signal outputted as ON and OFF signals. At a point of time when it is decided that the VSV valve 28 is opened, the opening of the ISV valve 26 is increased so that an amount of air passing through the bypass passage 20 is increased by a given value, and after a lapse of given time, the VSV valve 28 is closed.
