Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make a learning control fail-safe by returning a compensation value, obtained by learning control with the comparison between the time required for a speed change and a target speed change time, to a specified set value when an input revolution is outside a specified range.

CONSTITUTION: A control device 100 of an automatic transmission turns a clutch C4 and brake B1 on or off with solenoid valves 64, 68 according to the kind of speed change and the time required for the speed change is controlled via duty solenoid valves 82, 84. The time required for the speed change is detected with signals from an input revolution sensor 130 and a vehicle speed sensor 110 and compensated to converge to a target speed change time with a compensation value obtained by learning control through comparison with the target speed change time corresponding to a throttle opening. If the input revolution is not within a specified range at the time point after a specified time from the start of the speed change, the compensation value by the learning control is returned to a specified set value. Thus the learning control is made fail-safe.
