Abstract:
To obtain at low cost yarns each of a specified fineness or highly fine carbon fiber or the like having required tenacity, by splitting a raw thread with fiber bundles into a plurality of yarns.
A raw thread 10 with fiber bundles composed of continuous filaments such as carbon fiber of high tenacity and high modulus, preferably impregnated with a matrix resin, is splitted into a plurality of yarns along the longitudinal direction of the raw thread 10 to obtain the aimed split yarns 11, 12.
