To obtain the stabilizing solution for the silver halide photographic sensitive material improved in occurrence of sludge even in the case of continuous uneven processing of the photosensitive material for a long period by incorporating a specified compound.

The stabilizing solution for the silver halide photographic sensitive material contains the compound represented by formula I in which R11 is an H atom or a 1-3 C alkyl group; -A11- is a 3-5 C saturated hydrocarbon group necessary to form a ring. It is preferred for the compound of formula I to be 2-methyl-4,5-trimethylene-4-isothiazolin-3-one. It is preferred that the stabilizing solution also contains a compound represented by formula II in which each of R21-R23 is an H atom or a -OH or lower alkyl group; each of B21-B23 is an H atom or a -OH or -COOM group or the like; M is an H or alkali metal atom or the like; and each of (n) and (m) is 0 or 1.
