Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a good steering feeling with no stepped feeling without requiring a high accuracy of assembling position and to easily adjust a preset load by a simple structure.
SOLUTION: A ball 52 is held by a projection 40 of a valve body 14 of a control valve 70 and is biased in a radial direction by a spring 46. When a valve shaft 16 is rotated, a cam 44 of a tapered plate 78 rotating therewith presses and moves the ball 52 to apply a preset load. Since the ball is held with no play, a good steering feeling with no stepped feeling is obtained in the beginning of steering before a steering torque reaches the preset load. The press position of the ball 52 is changed by displacing the tapered plate 78 in an axial direction, whereby the preset load can be adjusted.
