Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the maneuverability of a vehicle at a target by setting an equivalent steering gear ratio between the turned angle of a handle and the actual steered quantity of front wheels in consideration of the difference between the actual steered quantity of the front wheels by the handle and the theoretical steered quantity of the front wheels, and thereby operating the auxiliary steering angle. CONSTITUTION:When front wheels 1 are steered by a steering handle 3, let a controller 17 input the outputs from a steering angle sensor 15 and a vehicle speed sensor 16 so that a proportion constant for front and rear wheels and a differential constant for the front and rear wheels against vehicle speed V are operated. Then, an equivalent steering gear ratio is operated accordingly to vehicle speeds V and/or the turned angle theta of the handle so that a target auxiliary steering angles for the front and rear wheels are operated respectively based on the equivalent steering gear ratio, the turned angle of the handle and respective above-mentioned constants for letting control signals corresponding to the result of the aforesaid operations be outputted to amplifiers 18 and 35. Thence, a solenoid 12a or 12b is excited in accordance with the deviation between each target auxiliary steering angle for the front and rear wheels and each actual auxiliary steering angle thereof for controlling each electromagnetic spool valve 12.
