Title:
STEERING INTERLOCK DEVICE FOR VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS63279973
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To achieve smaller turning radius than a conventional one by inclining a front axle against the ground face such that a front wheel at the outside in steering direction floats through steering rotation of a pitman arm more than predetermined amount. CONSTITUTION:An interlocking board 17 for an interlocking mechanism having a pair of circular long holes 16 is provided at the front side of a pitman arm 3, where the long holes and a pair of rod bearing sections 17 arranged on the upper face of a front axle are coupled through a pair of interlocking rods 18 for rotating the right or left side section of the front axle 2 through rightward or leftward rotation of the pitman arm 3 more than predetermined amount. When rotary amount of the pitman arm 3 caused through leftward rotary operation of steering wheel exceeds over a predetermined amount, lower end portion of the long hole 16 contacts with the end portion of the right side interlocking rod 18 which is lifted by the interlocking board 17 so as to float the front wheel 1.
