The stencil printer includes a printing position input means 117 inputting a moving amount for moving the printing position of an ink image printed on a printing sheet to a desired printing position, when passing ink 46 fed into a plate cylinder 42 through a plate making region 21a formed in a stencil base sheet 21 and printing on the printing sheet 61; a printing position adjusting means 50 or 70, 80 adjusting the relative position of the stencil base sheet to the printing sheet according to the amount of movement inputted by the printing position input means; a sheet size detection means 65 detecting the size of the printing sheet; and a control means 120 performing any one of stopping printing in case of the plate making region exceeding the printing sheet, or warning a user, after adjusting the relative positional relation of the stencil base sheet 21 to the printing sheet by the printing position adjusting means, based on printing position information of the plate making region of the stencil base sheet and the sheet size detection result by the sheet size detection means.
