To reload a drum through a simple operation even when skew occurs and to reduce the amount of stencil base paper for waste.
A stencil printer includes: a plate making part 6 which makes stencil base paper G and cuts it at a predetermined position; a first printing part 4 which rotates the first drum 41 with a tip of the stencil base paper G clamped by a base paper clamp part 42 and mounts the stencil base paper G on a first drum 41 for printing; a first detection part 45 which detects part of the tip of the stencil base paper G clamped by the base paper clamp part 42; and an equipment control part 20b which, when the stencil base paper G is not detected by the first detection part 45 when the first drum 41 rotates to a stencil base paper detection position, rotates the first drum 41 further without causing a plate making part 6 to cut the stencil base paper G, and if the stencil base paper G is detected by the first detection part 45 when the first drum 41 rotates again to the stencil base paper detection position, causes the plate making part 6 to cut the stencil base paper G.
