Title:
STERN BEARING FOR CONTRA-ROTATING PROPELLER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3132950
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an economical stem bearing for a contra-rotating propeller to prevent the reduction of the stem tube bearing capacity without increasing the diameters of the inner/outer shafts and without increasing the lubrication oil pressure even when the relative inclination between the inner shaft and the outer shaft, or the relative inclination between the inner shaft and the fore propeller boss is large.
CONSTITUTION: A stern tube bearing is provided with a double-layered cylindrical body consisting of a large diameter cylindrical back metal 9-3 where the outer circumference is fitted in the center hole of a fore propeller boss 3 or the inner surface of the outer shaft and a small diameter cylindrical part made of polymer material 9-2 such as rubber where an inner shaft 2 is inserted in the inner circumferential surface and the outer circumferential surface is integratedly fitted on the inner surface of the back metal 9-3, and a plurality of axial through-oil-holes which are formed parallel to each other in the axial direction at equal space in the circumferential direction in the small diameter cylindrical part and/or on the interface with the large diameter back metal 9-3.
