Abstract:
To provide a new storage equipment of radioactive waste superior in cooling effect and in economy.
In a storage equipment 1 of radioactive waste which is provided with a storage room 3 storing canisters C containing spent fuel or radioactive waste generating decay heat, cooling air is filled and sealed in the storage room 3, and the storage room 3 is placed floating on water surface or bottom of water so as to dip in water. By this, the canisters are effectively cooled and it is not necessary to prepare a wide area on the ground so that construction cost necessary for site purchase can be reduced.
