PURPOSE: To form a plurality of alternately stranded layers by tuning each pair of winders and receivers having the rotating directions differed every stranded layer with a feeder for feeding stranded wires and rotating them alternately.

CONSTITUTION: A plurality of pair stranded cores 5 delivered from a pair stranding type feeder 4 are collected by a die 6, a winder 1 and a receiver 2 are rotated to the left to conduct left-handed stranding, and the resulting cable is wound on the take-up rotating type winder 1 after a tape is wound thereon by a taping machine 3. After stranding of a determined length is finished, the stranded cable is pulled out from the winder 1 by the winder 1, the plurality of pair stranded cores 5 delivered thereon from the feeder 4 are collected by a die 6', a winder 1' and a receiver 2' are rotated to the right to form a right-handed stranded layer, on which a tape is wound by a taping machine 34, and the stranded cable is wound on a take-up rotating type winder 1'. Hence, the winders 1, 1' and the receivers 2, 2' are alternately rotated in such a manner as to be tuned with the feeder 4, whereby a plurality of alternately stranded layers can be formed at high speed.
