The strike including a strike box 7 inserting a latch head 23 of the latch bolt 4 provided at the door 2 when the door 2 is closed, has an elastic piece 20 extended toward the opening side of the strike box 7 from the bottom of the strike box 7. When the latch head 23 is inserted in the strike box 7, a surface 23a on the closing side A2 in the door opening/closing direction A of the latch head 23 abuts on the elastic piece 20, and the elastic piece 20 is pressed by a surface 23a and elastically deformed toward the closing side A2 in the door opening/closing direction A to suppress the return speed of the latch bolt 4.
