To provide a structure and a method for connecting pipes which prevent damage on water-cutoff performance and/or disengagement of pipes even by vertical movement due to frost mound of the ground, land sinkage due to riding of farm working vehicles or the like, or vibration due to passage of wheeled vehicles, and facilitate pipe-connecting work so as to reduce the load on workers and make water supply work smooth.

The pipe connecting structure is configured as follows: a measuring box body 2 of a water division measuring box 1 includes a bottom part 2A and a wall part 2B; and a pipe insertion hole 3 and water division holes 4 are formed in the bottom part 2A and the wall part 2B, respectively. A rubber water-cutoff material 5 provide in the pipe insertion hole 3 to be fitted into a pipe-like socket 9 is formed by integrating a circular base part 6 fitted into the pipe insertion hole 3, a circular bent part 7 bent into an almost U-shape when fitted, and an annular pressure-welded part 8 abutting on the inversion step part of the piping socket 9 and being inverted to be closely fitted when fitted.
