To provide a subdivision pack separating apparatus for separating respective subdivision packs of a film comprising a continuum of the subdivision packs with a powdered medicine filled in bags partitioned by widthwise seals for a subdivision pack packaging machine of the powdered medicine, which in particular is suitable for the film which is horizontally and intermittently moving.

The subdivision pack separating apparatus comprises a holder which can reciprocatingly move including a plurality of holding tools for holding and suspending an upper end seal of the film for each subdivision pack, and a rotary cutter placed ahead of the holder for cutting and/or perforating the widthwise seal of the film held by the holding tools by means of a fixed blade and a rotary blade. The holder comprises the holding tools, a drive-to-hold section for holding the holding tools and controlling to release them, a carrier for supporting a holding control section and a drive-to-reciprocate section for reciprocating the carrier. The apparatus further includes a subdivision pack conveyer for conveying the separated subdivision packs ahead of the rotary cutter.
