Abstract:
To provide blockers of sodium (Na+) channels.
The invention relates to substituted 2-aminoacetamide represented by general formula (II) below and pharmaceutically acceptable salt or prodrug thereof. The invention also relates to uses of the substituted 2-aminoacetamide for treatment of nerve cell damage following global and focal ischemia, treatment or prevention of neurodegenerative disorders, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), treatment, prevention or amelioration of pain, as antispastic agents, as antidepressants, as local anesthetics, as antiarrhythmics, as well as for treating and preventing diabetic neuropathy.
