Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new sulfonamide-substituted benzopyran derivative having potassium channel stimulating activity, useful as a cardiovascular agent, etc.
SOLUTION: This compound is shown by formula I [R1 is a group of formula II (R8 is an aryl, etc.; R9 is H, an alkyl, etc.; R10 is H, an alkyl, etc.; Z is NCN, S, etc.), etc.; R2 is H, hydroxyl, etc.; R3 and R4 are each independently H, an alkyl, etc.; R5 is H, an alkyl, etc.; R6 and R7 are each independently H, an alkyl, etc.; Y is a single bond, CH2, etc.) such as (3S-trans)-N-(4-chlorophenyl)-N'- cyano-N"-[6-(diethylamino)sulfornyl]-3,4-dihydro-3-hydroxy-2,2-dimethyl-2H-1- benzopyran-4-yl]guanidine. A thiourea of formula III is treated with an amine of formula IV in a solvent in the presence of a coupling agent such as carbodiimide to give a compound of formula I in which R1 is the group of formula II and Z is NCN.
