PURPOSE: To provide a structural vessel supporting apparatus for supporting a vessel vertically and laterally, and limiting lateral movement of the vessel.
CONSTITUTION: This supporting apparatus for laterally and vertically supporting a vessel 20 such as a nuclear steam generator 20, includes a bracket 120 connected to an exterior bottom surface 40 and a side bottom surface 40, a support column 160 pivotally connected to the bracket 120 for vertically supporting the steam generator 20, and a base pad assembly 340 connected pivotally to the support column 160 for supporting the column 160 and the steam generator 20. The apparatus further includes a male key member attached to the side surface of the steam generator 20, a female stop member attached to an adjacent wall, a snuffer assembly for dampening lateral movement of the steam generator 20, a flat or restraining member attached to the side surface of the generator 20, and a bumper attached to the adjacent wall.
