Abstract:
To provide a surface roughness estimating device with which it is possible to grasp the surface roughness of a workpiece after being machined by a machine tool.SOLUTION: A surface roughness estimating device 100 comprises: a measurement result acquisition unit 110 for acquiring a measurement result when a sizing device 50, provided in a machine tool that machines a workpiece and having a contactor brought into contact with the workpiece and capable of measuring the dimensions of the workpiece by detecting contact between the contactor and the workpiece, is moved to the workpiece while keeping the contactor of the sizing device 50 in contact with the workpiece; a conversion unit 120 for converting the measurement result acquired by the measurement result acquisition unit 110 into an alternative value that serves as the alternative characteristic of surface roughness of the workpiece; a model storage unit 150 for storing a model that represents a relationship between the alternative value and the measured value of surface roughness of the workpiece; and an estimation unit 160 for estimating the surface roughness of the workpiece on the basis of the model and the alternative value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
