Abstract:

To provide a surface-treated calcium carbonate which can give a sealing material that is good in adhesive property at submergence, appearance and curing property.

The surface-treated calcium carbonate comprises being obtained by surface treating 100 pts.wt. of calcium carbonate with 0.5 pts.wt.-20 pts.wt. of at least one surface treating agent selected from a hydrogenated rosin, a polymerization rosin, a disproportionated rosin, their metal salts and their esters, wherein the surface-treated calcium carbonate contains an alkali metal ion and an ammonium ion at their total content of 2.56×10-5 mol/kg or more and 2.56×10-2 mol/kg or less.
