Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To offer a switching power supply unit which is efficient as a power unit and is possible of downsizing of semiconductor parts and does not cause abnormal oscillation, either.
SOLUTION: This unit is equipped with a synchronous rectification element driving circuit 10 which operates synchronous rectification elements TR2 and TR3, and a gate discharge circuit 12 which controls the discharge timing of the gate of the synchronous rectification element TR3. The synchronous rectification element driving circuit 10 discharges the gate of the synchronous rectification element TR2, utilizing the voltage generated in tertiary winding N3 during the ON period of a main switching element TR1. When the main switching element TR1 is to be transited from ON to OFF it distributes the charge accumulated in the gate of the synchronous rectification element TR2 to the gate of the synchronous rectification element TR3, thereby raising the gate voltage of the synchronous element TR3. This charges the gate of the synchronous rectification element TR3 as well as discharges the gate of the synchronous rectification element TR2, making use of the voltage which is generated in tertiary winding N3 when the main switching element TR1 is switched off.
