Abstract:
To provide a system and a method for calibrating a model of thermal dynamics in a heat state in an environment of an architectural structure conditioned by operation of a heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system.SOLUTION: A method includes: a step 100 for receiving a value of control input to an actuator of a HVAC system and a value of a thermal state at a location of an environment caused by operation of the HVAC system according to the value of the control input; a step 102 for computing a probabilistic surrogate model iteratively, using a Bayesian optimization, until a termination condition is met; and a step 104 for outputting, when the termination condition is met, an optimal combination of different parameters of the model of thermal dynamics having the largest likelihood of being a global minimum at the probabilistic surrogate model according to an acquisition function of the first two order moments of calibration errors.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
