Abstract:

To provide a means for more accurately processing a data stream by utilizing a data transition.

One embodiment of the present invention relates to a system for processing the data stream. The system is provided with: a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) (105) for generating a VCO signal in response to a control signal; a phase detector (211) for generating an error signal representing the phase difference between a data signal and the VCO signal; a first filter (202) for filtering a reference signal indicating occurrence of the data transition; a second filter (203) for filtering the error signal; and a divider circuit (206) for dividing the filtered error signal with the filtered reference signal. The first filter and the second filter are low-pass filters each having a bandwidth approximately equal to 1/2 of the inverse of the result obtained by multiplying a unit term by a maximum run length.
