Abstract:

PURPOSE: To remarkably save the space above spinning machinery by stopping an apparatus for piecing a sliver under a sliver passage of a spinning unit, lifting a sliver piecing operation part and carrying out the sliver piecing.

CONSTITUTION: An apparatus (Ap) for piecing a sliver is stopped under a sliver passage of a spinning unit for performing the sliver piecing and an sliver piecing operation part (M) is then lifted to carry out the sliver piecing. The apparatus for piecing the sliver is run on rails (R1) and (R2) attached to supports (L1) and (L2) in the longitudinal direction of the spinning machinery (Sp).
