This silica gel desiccant is obtained by mixing a suitable amount of a lubricating agent in a mixture of activated carbon particles of 0.5-10% of the total weight of a tablet, 82-72% silica gel particles, and 10-20% polyolefin resin powder, tableting the lubricating agent-mixed mixture by compression molding, and heat-treating the obtained tablet at the temperature equal to or higher than the melting point of the polyolefin resin and equal to or lower than the carbonizing temperature of the polyelefin resin.
