Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape measure having a cushion mechanism which can prevent damage to a stopper at the end of tape by surely reducing shock caused when the tape is inadvertently violently returned.
SOLUTION: This tape measure has a cushion member 6 provided at an extension port 3 for a tape 2 enclosed in a case 1, the cushion member 6 making contact with the back of a stopper 2a at the end of the tape 2. The cushion member 6 has an expansion spring part 6b in the form of a thin plate curved into the shape of S on plan view and is integrally formed from a synthetic resin material. Thus when the end of the tape is released and the tape 2 is inadvertently violently returned during measurements, its shock is reduced to prevent damage to the stopper 2a at the end of the tape.
