To solve a problem in which, since at the time of lot change, it is necessary to reduce the number of working take-up units to take up material yarn on full packages without waste and such reduction requires labor of an operator, the operator has a bigger burden.

Doffing work includes package discharging work for discharging full packages 7 from take-up units 2, take-up tube setting work for setting take-up tubes 10 in a cradle 27, and thread guard work for performing thread guard on the take-up tubes 10. When a lot is changed, a production control means 50a designates the take-up unit 2 in charge of the lot as a lot change unit, and a device controller 30 controls drive of a doffing device 3 such that the take-up unit 2 designated as the lot change unit performs only the package discharging work out of the doffing work.
