PURPOSE: To provide the titled device capable of restraining a thermal head from being oscillated when the head is separated from a platen roller, wherein both end parts of the thermal head are supported by support members provided at positions spaced from the platen roller.

CONSTITUTION: The thermal head 1 is fitted to an upper part of a holding member 11 having a shaft 12 at a central part in the longitudinal direction thereof, and the support members 14a, 14b are provided at positions faced to both end parts of the holding member 11. When the thermal head 1 is separated from the platen roller 7 by de-energizing a solenoid 13, the both end parts of the holding member 11 are engaged to elastic members 15a, 15b provided on the support members 14a, 14b, thereby restraining the thermal head 1 from being oscillated with the shaft 12 as a center.
