To prepare thermal recording material having good ground whiteness and coloring sensitivity by combinedly mixing in the thermal recording layer a fluoran compound expressed by a specific formula as a coloring agent and a compound expressed by a specific formula as an intensifier.
Thermal recording material is prepared by laminating a thermal recording layer formed by combinedly mixing in the carrier an fluoran compound expressed by formula I (R1 and R2 show a 1-5C alkyl group) as a coloring agent, and a compound expressed by formula II (R3-R6 show a hydrogen atom, a 1-4C alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, a phenyl group, or the like, and X shows -O-, -S-, or the like). As an exemplification of the compound of the formula I, there is given 2-(3-methylanilino)-3-methyl-6-dimethylaminofluorane, or the like, and also given a vis(4-phenyloxyphenyl)ether, or the like as an exemplification of the compound of the formula II.
