PURPOSE: To provide a thermal transfer image receiving sheet improved in the drying properties of an intermediate layer and a receiving layer, free from a problem of a residual solvent, good in the adhesiveness of both layers, excellent in the peelability from a thermal transfer sheet at the time of thermal transfer and capable of forming an image of high quality.

CONSTITUTION: A thermal transfer image receiving sheet is constituted by successively laminating an intermediate layer and a receiving layer on one surface of a base material sheet and the intermediate layer is composed of a resin having at least one active hydrogen and the receiving layer contains at least one kind of a thermoplastic resin and a curing agent reacting with active hydrogen. If necessary, a fluorescent brightener or titanium oxide is added to the intermediate layer and a release agent reacting with the curing agent is added to the receiving layer.
