Abstract:
PURPOSE: To transfer the character or pattern formed on a thermal transfer film in a good printing state within a short time by printing to the printing surface of printed matter to be transferred composed of metal or ceramic high in radiation characteristics.
CONSTITUTION: A thermal transfer film 10 is superposed on the printing surface of preheated printed matter 5 to be transferred made of metal or ceramic high in radiation characteristics and brought into contact with the printing surface of the printed matter 5 under heating and pressure by a thermal transfer head 40 to melt the thermal adhesive layer 14 of the thermal transfer film 10. The thermal transfer head 40 is moved and the thermal transfer film 10 is peeled from one side part of the printed matter 5 while cooled by a cooling means 50.
